Cinnamon Crinkle Cookies Recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 1⁄2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1⁄2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 21⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1⁄4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 1⁄4 cup granulated sugar for rolling
  • 1⁄2 tsp ground cinnamon for rolling
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and shortening with an electric mixer until creamy. Add the granulated and brown sugars and beat until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, cream of tartar, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Slowly mix into the wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  4. In a small, shallow bowl, stir together 1⁄4 cup granulated sugar and 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  5. Roll heaping tablespoon-sized balls of dough into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat. Place on prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-14 minutes until lightly browned but still soft in the center.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy!
