Tips & Tricks

When looking for a homemade ranch dressing recipe, the first tip you should follow is always looking for fresh ingredients. By using fresh ingredients, you’ll be able to better ensure that your salad dressing will taste great each time.

You’ll also want to make sure that you try different combinations of spices so that you can find one that works perfectly with your tastes.

Is this dressing better than store-bought?

Most salad dressings on grocery store shelves are made with canola oil, one of the worst foods you can put in your body. That’s why it’s so important to make your own dressing. You have complete control over what goes into it—and that means you get to decide what food goes into it!

How can I use ranch dressing in recipes?

You don’t need a recipe for ranch—it goes great on just about everything, from dipping veggies and buffalo wings to pouring over salads.

My ranch dressing has separated. What should I do?

Our ranch dressings are shelf-stable and need to be refrigerated immediately after making. If you left it on your counter for a day or two or it’s separated in your refrigerator, not to worry! You can re-blend (in a bowl) or shake up with an immersion blender until smooth again. Mix in 2-3 tablespoons of water if needed.

How to store?

Store your homemade ranch dressing in a covered container. This will prevent it from picking up flavors or odors from other foods. You can store it in your refrigerator for up to one week, but be sure to bring it back to room temperature before using it so that you can get that authentic texture and consistency!

What’s a good substitute for buttermilk?

I don’t have buttermilk in my fridge, and I really want ranch dressing! You could make it without, but your results may vary. Feel free to try making it with a different kind of milk. Some people claim soy or coconut works well. I haven’t tried either personally—but if you do, let me know how it goes in a comment below!
