Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a 10 inch Bundt pan, making sure to flour it as well.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, 2 cups of sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
Add the buttermilk, 1 cup of butter, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and the eggs to the bowl. Mix everything together until well blended, then beat the mixture for 3 minutes at medium speed.
Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Once the cake is out of the oven, use a toothpick to make small holes all over the surface of the cake. Slowly pour the butter sauce over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
Allow the cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan.
