  • Water: ⅓ cup
  • Taco Seasoning: 3 tablespoons
  • Refried Beans: 1 ½ cups

Instructions

  • Get Started: Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Cook the Beef: In a large pan, brown the ground beef, drain any excess fat, and then stir in water and taco seasoning. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until nicely thickened.
  • Heat those Beans: While the meat cooks, heat your refried beans, either on the stovetop or in the microwave. Get your toppings ready, too!
  • Crisp the Shells: Place your tostada shells in the oven for 5 minutes or so, until they're slightly crispy and smelling fantastic.
  • Layer It Up: Remove the shells from the oven and begin the fun part – layering! Start with the refried beans, followed by a spoonful of that savory ground beef, and finally, your chosen toppings.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Your Beef Tostadas are now ready to devour. Serve immediately and enjoy the flavor fiesta!

Notes

Corn Tortilla Tip: If using corn tortillas, preheat your oven to 375°F. Brush both sides with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and bake for 4 minutes. Flip them over and bake for another 5-7 minutes until golden and crisp.
Frying Option: You can also fry the tortillas in a shallow pan with a touch of oil until they're perfectly crispy.
