Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray an 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray then line the bottom with parchment paper, making sure it comes up at least two of the sides, and set aside (this will help with removing the brownies later.)
In a large mixing bowl, mix the strawberry cake mix, eggs, melted salted butter, and strawberry extract (if using) until combined. The batter will be very thick.
Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 18-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Oven times may vary.
Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool completely.
Once the brownies are completely cool, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, strawberry preserves, and milk in a small bowl until combined.
Pour the glaze over the brownies and smooth into an even layer.
Cut into 9 large or 12 small squares and serve!
