Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil chopped

Optional Add-ins:

  • Red pepper flakes for heat
  • Extra garlic cloves
  • Fresh oregano
  • Sun-dried tomatoes

Instructions

  • Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Place seasoned chicken in slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, combine chicken broth, marinara sauce, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour sauce mixture over chicken.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3 hours.
  • In final 30 minutes, sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Continue cooking until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
