Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup butter softened
- 5 cups blackberries or other berry of your choice
- 3 cups sugar divided plus 1 tablespoon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (I used lime this time because it was all I had and it was just the same)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1 teaspoon salt divided
Instructions
- Spread the berries in a greased 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with lemon or lime juice and toss with 1 tablespoon sugar. Berries, especially blackberries can be so tart, the sugar really helps to calm that down. You want them to taste like way you would if you were eating them alone.
- Put your water on to boil. In a medium bowl stir the flour, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, milk, butter, baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. The mixture will be thick. That’s just how you want it. Spoon over the berries and spread to the edges. Set aside. Make sure the batter is all the way to the edge so that it makes a seal.
- In a small bowl mix the remaining sugar, starch and salt and sprinkle evenly over the batter.

I Can’t Wait To Make These Recipes,Thank YOU So Much for your FAMILY’S Recipes .
While this blackberry cobbler looks awesome it is missing temperature and cooking time.
The version of the recipe I saw stopped before it told me what temperature to bake at for how long, and it did not include instructions to pour boiling water over the cobbler before putting it in to bake. I’d love to see the complete recipe.
All of the instructions are not there. Could you possibly send it so have all of the baking directions. It stops at number three.
Just put this in the oven after some guesswork. Recipe doesn’t tell you what to do with the water, doesn’t given baking temperature or baking time. Spent ($69) a lot of money to get all ingredients. Hope my guesswork pays off.
I did not see a temperature to bake. So I guessed. Can someone help.

Black berry cobbler sounds delicious.
Howdy! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My blog looks weird when viewing from my iphone 4. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to fix this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share. Appreciate it! ivistroy.ru
I certainly hope you let your blackberries soak in lemon juice before you freeze them, cook them or eat them. One of my Facebook friends recently posted about the importance of doing this & images of the tiny worms that could be hiding inside the berries if you don’t
