So what other ingredients can you make grain free brownies out of, you ask?

NOT BLACK BEANS, you guys!

Not that black beans are bad in brownies, they’re just not in this recipe.

So what are we left with to make grain free brownies then?

The answer might surprise you.

Totally NORMAL INGREDIENTS. You know… regular-people-food-stuff.

You only need 7 little ingredients to make these super healthy and satisfying brownies.

Get ready for all of this amazingness…

  1. Bananas
  2. Peanut butter
  3. Cacao
  4. Chocolate chips
  5. Raw honey
  6. Vanilla
  7. Salt (salt is totally optional, so technically, these are 6 ingredient brownies!)

Say whaaaaat?

Yep, the brownies that you see here – the ones that look, taste and feel like real brownies – are made with those 7 simple ingredients. I don’t know how exactly this recipe happened, but it did, and it was totally meant to be.

Actually, I’m lying, I’m pretty sure this recipe started out as cupcakes… uhhhh… mmm hmm.

Sometimes ‘bad’ situations can turn into majorly awesome situations if you keep an open mind and stay open to change.

^^That’s not just good brownie advice, you guys, that’s good everyday life advice, too^^

No matter how these brownies happened, they taste great. People who eat the “Standard American Diet” even like them! That’s how you know they’re legit!

Are you wondering if these grain free brownies taste like bananas and peanut butter?

My taste buds detect a bit more of the banana flavor, but my in-laws think the peanut butter flavor stands out more.

I considered calling these brownies, “Double Chocolate Grain-Free Peanut Butter & Banana Brownies {Completely Flourless}”, but you know what? I already talk too much as it is and I have to draw the line somewhere.

Plus, I don’t want people who don’t care for peanut butter and bananas to feel deterred from trying this recipe. My mother in law really doesn’t like bananas, but she still loved them!

I think you should try these brownies and decide if a title change is necessary – you can let me know, okay? I’m open to suggestions.

Enjoy this sweet treat, and…

Go love yourself,

Course: Dessert
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 1 cup natural peanut butter or sun butter to make these nut-free, which is how we eat them now
  • 6 ounces banana or 2 small bananas
  • ¼ cup raw honey
  • 3 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • dash of sea salt (pink Himalayan or Celtic), optional
  • 1 cup dairy free chocolate chips (I use half mini and half mega chunks)
  • organic virgin coconut oil for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the first 6 ingredients to a food processor and process on high until combined, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl if necessary. Next, add chocolate chips and pulse several times until the chips are combined. Spread the brownie mixture evenly in a greased 8×10 baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool before serving.

Notes

These brownies taste best when warm. Leftover brownies can be reheated for about 5-7 minutes in a 350 degree oven or toaster oven.
