Can I use raw chicken in the dish?
Of course, you can. But the raw chicken will take more time to cook so we do recommend using any leftovers of the grilled or rotisserie chicken as they taste way too great.
What other ingredients can you add to this dish?
You can add Colby and cream cheese. Moreover, some onion, celery, chili powder, garlic powder, green onions, broccoli, and bell peppers. We do recommend trying it this way but the rest is up to you to try customizations in your food. You are surely going to love it in every way.

I love this funeral potato recipe with chicken added. I am LDS and we make this recipe for funeral, family luncheons minus the chicken. It is usually served with sliced ham, green salad, hot roll and a desert. I also added 1 cube melted butter, frozen peas, frozen corn. Left out the milk and added another 1/2 cup of sour cream, so 2 cups in all of sour cream. Your recipe does not say how much cheese but I like 2 cups of cheddar. Some people put 1/2 cheese mixed in then melt the other cup on top instead of bread crumbs.
