Can you make pecan Sandies using powdered sugar?

Absolutely! You can substitute the granulated sugar with 1 cup of powdered sugar. Just remember to increase the quantity of the powdered one 3x.

What else can I add to this recipe?

It is not the first time we have wanted to customize our recipes. You can never go wrong with some extra ingredients and flavors when it comes to desserts, and you should try adding cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom. I have once tried this recipe with rum as well, and it turned out to be quite good.

Pecan Sandies Recipe

Pecan Sandies is a very old recipe that has been a part of many cultures worldwide. It is a crispy and buttery cookie made with pecans that is so easy and simple to make.

Ingredients
 

  • Butter 1 cup
  • Flour 2 cups
  • Brown sugar half cup
  • Granulated sugar ⅓ cup
  • Pecans 2 cups chopped
  • Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
  • Salt a pinch

Instructions
 

  • Mix butter, white, and brown sugar in an electric mixer. Mix it well for 5 minutes, and then add the remaining ingredients to the mixer. Take your time at this process, like 3-5 minutes, so you have a nice texture.
  • Create dough balls of the same size and gently press them on a baking tray with butter/parchment paper.
  • Bake the Sandies at 350 degrees F for 16-17 minutes.
  • The traditional pecan Sandies are ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can use the same recipe and substitute the pecans with any other type of nut. It is an excellent tip for those who do not like pecans.
  • You can decorate your cookies by adding powdered sugar to the top.
