Have you ever tried Indian fry bread? If not, it is a must, and once you try it, you will fall in love with it. You can serve it with sweet or savory toppings as it tastes good with everything. It is the perfect lunch or dinner, just like a taco.
What is fry bread?
It is a famous recipe known as the Navajo Tacos. The recipe originates from Southwestern America, and now it is popular around the world. In some cultures, it has other names, but in every way, it is a fantastic recipe and a must-try for bread lovers.
Can the fry bread be both sweet and savory?
Of course, it can. It is a unique recipe that tastes perfect in both a sweet and savory way. You can add lettuce, sour cream, salsa, and much more. I also like mine with some chili but only try it if you love spicy food. For sweet lovers, try it with jam, honey, and butter. It could be the perfect breakfast for your family.
Recipe tips:
The oil temperature is very important, so make sure it is consistent. The temperature should not be low or high. It should be accurate to 150 degrees F. Moreover, it will cook the inside of the bread well and not burn it.
If you want your bread flat, cut small slits in the center and then fry it.
Can you make Indian fry bread ahead of time?
No, I do not recommend it to try ahead of time. But you can make the dough and keep it in the fridge or freeze it. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and then defrost it a few hours before frying.
