Peaches and Cream Bars

WANT TO SAVE THIS RECIPE?

Nothing says summer quite like fresh peaches! That’s why you need to make these amazing Peaches and Cream Bars. The layers of flaky crust, creamy cheesecake filling, and sweet peach pie filling make these bars simply heavenly. Topped off with a light glaze, these are sure to be your new favorite summer treat!

These homemade bars have a graham cracker crust bottom layer. To make it, just mix together butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour and salt until a nice dough forms. Press half into the bottom of a greased baking pan.

Next comes the delicious cheesecake layer. Beat cream cheese with sugar, vanilla and an egg until smooth and creamy. Spread this over the crust base. I recommend letting the cream cheese come to room temperature first so it mixes up nicely.

For amazing peach flavor, spoon canned peach pie filling over the cheesecake layer. Using canned pie filling means the peaches are already cooked down into a sweet, saucy filling. But you could also try substituting fresh peach slices if you want.

To finish it off, drop spoonfuls of the remaining crust batter over the pie filling. It will spread out as it bakes.

Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes until the top is light golden. Let cool completely before drizzling with the glaze.

Speaking of glaze, it adds just the right sweet touch! Simply whisk together powdered sugar, milk and almond extract. Pour over bars and let set before cutting into squares.

Tips for Perfect Peaches and Cream Bars:

  • Use room temperature cream cheese so the filling is smooth
  • Salted or unsalted butter both work
  • Add a pinch of salt to the crust dough for flavor
  • Don’t overmix the batter for tender, flaky layers
  • Cool completely before glazing
  • Store leftovers covered at room temperature

These Peaches and Cream Bars are sure to be your new go-to dessert all summer long! They’re easy enough for weeknights but special enough for potlucks and barbecues too.

Let me know if you give them a try! I’d love to hear what you think. Enjoy these peach-perfect summertime treats!
