Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie crust 9-inch, store-bought or homemade
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¾ cup milk or cream
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup cubed cooked ham
  • cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 3 tablespoons chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Place pie crust in a 9" pie plate. Crimp or decorate edges if desired.
  • Whisk eggs, milk or cream, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl until smooth.
  • Layer ham, 1 cup of cheese, and green onions evenly into the crust.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the filling. Top with remaining ½ cup of cheese.
  • Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is fully set.
  • Cool slightly (5–10 minutes), then slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • No ham? Try cooked bacon, sausage, or even smoked salmon.
  • Dairy-free? Use your favorite plant-based milk and dairy-free cheese.
  • Crustless option: Grease the pie plate and skip the crust entirely for a gluten-free version.
  • Add veggies: Mushrooms, spinach, bell peppers—just make sure they’re pre-cooked and not too wet.
  • Cheese swap: Gouda, Swiss, Monterey Jack, or feta work beautifully.
