Butter biscuits are a simple and delicious baked good made with flour, baking powder, salt, butter, and milk. The ingredients are mixed, rolled out, and baked in the oven until golden brown. They have a light and fluffy texture with a buttery flavor, making them the perfect snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 packed cups of standard flour
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of small salted butter pieces
  • 1 cup of milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a big mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together. Add small pieces of butter to the bowl.
  3. Use your hands or a pastry blender to combine the flour mixture and butter until it becomes crumbly and the butter pieces are about the size of peas.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir with a wooden spoon until well combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Turn the mixture out onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 3/4 inch thickness.
  6. Cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet or iron skillet, making sure they touch for a higher rise during baking.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes or until they are browned.
