  • All-purpose flour – 2 cups
  • Baking Powder – 2 tsp
  • Baking soda – 1 tsp
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Granulated Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Buttermilk – 2 cups
  • Eggs beaten – 2
  • Vanilla extract optional – 1 tsp


  • Add all the dry ingredients to a bowl, mix. Now, add buttermilk, effs and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Keep mixing until the ingredients are properly mixed and a smooth texture appears. If there are some minor lumps, it is fine.
  • Allow the pancake batter to settle. This time should be ten minutes.
  • Take a cooking pan and heat it on medium flame.
  • Spray cooking spray or brush oil on the cooking pan.
  • Now pour ½ cup batter on the pan for making pancakes.
  • Now, flip the pancakes when bubbles start to appear on the top layer. Cook until both sides turn golden brown.
  • Pancakes are ready, layer them and serve with butter and syrup.

The secret ingredient for making buttermilk pancakes is buttermilk. Pancakes made with buttermilk tastes extra delicious. You can add vinegar to milk, and your buttermilk is prepared. You can use buttermilk for other recipes as well.
